P52 Week 4 – Slow Shutter Speed

This week as a part of working through “The Visual Toolbox” I was supposed to work with a slow shutter speeds (1/60 sec or slower).  This past week and this week were/is/will be just busy in a constantly putting out fires and adjusting plans sort of way.  Case in point, my husband, son and I went out this weekend with the intent of doing a little walking, letting our son run around, and I could work on this weeks “assignment”.  Instead, when we pulled into the coffee shop to grab a quick pick me up before doing some exploring, we found our son had slowly dripped an entire sippy cup of water on himself during the car ride.  Letting a soaking wet kid run around in 45 degree weather just didn’t seem like a good idea.  So we made a quick coffee purchase and piled back into the car.

So in lieu of getting some great inspired shots around Bainbridge Island I grabbed a few slow shutter images of my kiddo running around an playing that evening. This image, I believe best captures the intent of the assignment.   (The camera is hand held with elbows supported on the kitchen table.)
