This week I opted to work on some black & white images. I normally opt for color when processing my images but recently I have really enjoyed revisiting monochrome. I first learned the basics in a black & white film class and sometimes focusing on the basics is just what you need.
My husband is out of town this month but he sent me a wonderful bouquet of flowers for Valentine’s Day. Naturally, I had to photograph them. Color seems like the logical choice for floral images but I wanted to try a black & white to show off the light and texture here. Then I happened to snap a cute little image of my son staring out the window and thought it would be perfect for black and white as well. He was quite patient and seemed to have a good time exploring our home office will I shot the flowers.
Both images are shot using a Lensbaby. Top images uses a macro adapter.
