Film – A walk in Mystic, Connecticut

This past month I was able to shoot two rolls of the same brand of film (different ISOs) on two different cameras and all images are straight out of the camera.

The first set of images was shot with my Diana Mini using Fuji Superia 800.  I am still trying to get to know this camera.  It’s a little challenging for me.  The Diana Mini has a shutter speed of 1/60 which requires a fairly steady hand, two small aperture stops (f 8 and f 11), and a zone focus.  Additionally, this camera is known for it’s soft focus and tendency to underexpose.  I love the challenges that this camera poses.  Every roll I have shot with my little Diana has been just a little bit better than the last.  Here are my favorite images from this last roll (including one double exposure).

This second roll is from my Konica T-4 using Fuji Superia 200.  To be entirely honest this is the first roll of film I have put into this camera in a few years, and it is a total shame.  I totally forgot how much I love using this camera (broken light meter, no auto-focus and all).  With it’s 55mm lens attached this little camera is light, slim, little beast!  The day I shot this film we decided to take a walk around Mystic, Connecticut after eating brunch.  It was severely overcast so while the colors are off they are still bright and the images are sharp.  I am pretty sure I have rekindled a love affair with this little camera.
