HELLO FRIENDS!
I am currently penning this post from my hotel room in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and smack in the middle of our cross country move. We just left Kansas City this morning after spending a few days with my family. Additionally, I was able to work in a few photo shoots for friends, both old and new, while in town. So be looking for some blog posts showcasing those wonderful families over the next few weeks and I churn through editing in the hours I am not confined to a car or lost amongst boxes and packing materials in our new home.
Tomorrow we start, what is for me, the exciting part of our trip. I have not spent much time in the expanse between Kansas City and the west coast. Even though this is our third time crossing the country for a move I am still looking forward to the drive out to Washington. Each time we have driven a different route and tomorrow we head out for Sheridan, Wyoming. We plan on making a stop at Mt. Rushmore and, though he may not know it yet, I plan to do everything in my power to convince my husband to stop at Wall Drug for lunch. If you know me personally, you already know about my little love affair with roadside attractions, so come hell or high water I WILL be stopping at this one.
While I attempt to grab some shut eye before tomorrow’s early departure, let me leave you with this bit of wisdom. Fewer times in your life will be less productive than when your child learns to walk and all your worldly goods are taken away. Before we left Connecticut I spent a solid 5 days chasing my child around the house making sure he didn’t fall downstairs or throw a finger in an outlet. Below are a few images that pretty well sum up my last week in Connecticut.
