Some years ago my husband and I lived about a block off the intersection of California and Alaska in West Seattle. We absolutely fell in love with the neighborhood. It is still near and dear to my heart and we frequently talk about West Seattle being our “end game” when the time comes for us to stop moving. So I was a little over the moon when my friend Crystal suggested the Junction followed by Alki Beach as locations for her maternity shoot.
The weather wasn’t so kind to us. It was chilly and rainy and even a little more overcast than usual. But Crystal and Chris were such incredibly good sports about it. We chose to view it as “classically rainy Seattle” and had fun anyway.
We spent some time right there are the corner of Alaska and California. It was all I could do to keep myself from swinging inside Cupcake Royale for a snack. We also snagged a few images in passage near Northwest Art & Frame. Then we made our way down to a very blustery Alki beach near the mini statue of liberty.
Here is a quick peek into their gorgeous, and slightly damp, West Seattle shoot.
Crystal and Chris I send you the best and warmest wishes for the birth of your little one. Parenting is such a grand adventure. I cannot wait to meet your little guy.
