Last week I played around with horizon lines as part of my 52 week project. This was another exercise taken from “The Visual Toolbox”. The goal of the exercise was to show how horizon placement places emphasis on different parts of an image; ground, sky, or something else entirely.
I don’t shoot a lot of landscape but when I do I seem to end up keeping it pretty safe and standard; in color and horizons along a third. While working on this exercise I made a point to be a little more dramatic with the horizon placement and play around with a little black and white as well.
The following images were taken up at Point No Point in Washington.
