P52 Week 40 – Orientation of Frame – Kitsap Photographer

Week 40 of 52 is about making decisions regarding orientation of frame; landscape or portrait.

Mostly I shoot in landscape orientation because it’s a great way to get more of a scene into a single frame.  But every now and then turning the camera to get more in vertically makes more sense.

The following two images were taken in at Redwoods National Park.  Both taken within moments of each other.  While the horizontal orientation is a perfectly fine image, having the camera turned to capture more vertically makes the image much more dynamic and gives it more of a sense of place.
