I have to start by saying that this shoot was pretty special for me. Not only are Mom and Dad friends of my husband and myself, but their kiddos pretty much qualify as my son’s first “friends”. These two are the first children our little boy has seen and played with frequently enough that he knows them and gets so excited when he finds out we are going to see them. So it was really fun (and a little intimidating) to be able to make some photographs for this awesome family.
Mom and Dad wanted am outdoor shoot primarily focused on their children then Mom suggested shooting at Fay Bainbridge Park after seeing a photo I posted on Instagram. I was only too happy to oblige. Fay Bainbridge is quickly becoming a favorite spot of mine and we have had patches of uncommonly gorgeous weather in between the fall/winter rains that have started to show up. Plus, it would give their kids an opportunity to explore some place new.
Their son and daughter played in the driftwood, tossed stones in the water, and may have splashed a little in the water rolling up in the shore. It was so much fun to capture these smart, imaginative, and determined kids in action. Here is a peek into their lively storytelling children’s session.
