Motherhood is a strange and powerful thing. In my experience, at least, children can wake up a small part of your soul that has been dormant all your life. A little part of your soul you didn’t know existed. Suddenly, you find yourself saying and doing things that once seemed so terribly foreign to you but now simultaneously seem so natural and in-line with who you are.
When Tonya contacted me about about creating some images of their 3 month old daughter we chatted a bit about babies, birth, and being a mother. I have a suspicion our transitions into motherhood felt much the same. In fact, their home and the way she and her husband interact with their daughter, very much reminded me of our home when our son was just a few months old. Lots of quiet, blissful moments punctuated by truly hilarious, out-loud conversations with the baby. And I doubt it will be very long before those conversations won’t need to be one-sided, because their adorable little girl is already busting at the seams with personality and has lots she clearly wants to say.
Here’s a few highlights into their sweet, in home session.
