Sometimes, with a bit of luck, you get to hit one right out of the ball park. And sometimes that bit of luck involves a marshmallow.
I know. Weird, right?
When I was planning this family session Mom, Rebecca, spoke a lot about how much time she and her family spent outside. She and her husband and their two little kiddos go on frequent hikes and camping trips. So it seemed only natural that we landed on a session at beautiful Scenic Beach park making s’mores.
Well, we woke up sporadic rain showers on the day we were scheduled to meet. I spent the morning checking weather underground like a crazy person. Finally, when it came down to game time the rain had cleared and left the most beautiful sky and sunlight. Then Rebecca shows up with the most beautiful (and delicious) homemade marshmallows one can image, a recipe she actually got from this mom. So we built a fire, made s’mores, chatted and then let the kids run around on the beach. It was a beautiful evening with a beautiful family and I really couldn’t have asked for much more from a session and then……
After I posted their sneak peek I got a message from Rebecca talking about how serendipitous their session had been. She mentioned that not only had the weather been similar on their wedding day but she also fell in love with her husband over a perfectly roasted marshmallow. Upon reading that I promptly died a little because, ohmigosh, can anything be more perfect? No. The answer is no.
